What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Forums
When users leave discussion responses on the site we collect the data shown in the forums, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Support forms
If you request support using our Help button located at the top of the screen, we request your Name and Email Address to respond to your request. This information is not shared with anyone except our Support Team. If your question is in reference to another course at The American College, we will then forward that information to the appropriate person within our organization.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish a reply in the Forums, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Content on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with
If you entered KYGYW® via a Join Link provided by a third-party organization, your information may be shared with the referring organization in two manners:
1) Demographic and other personally identifiable information may be shared in an anonymous and aggregated manner. This data may be used for benchmarking, research, reporting, course improvement and other business purposes
2). Name, email address and course progress may be shared in an individualized manner for recording, communication and progress tracking purposes. Name and contact information may only be shared with the referring organization as identified by their unique Join Link. The College does not sell personal information to outside parties for their commercial use.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Additional information
How we protect your data
Our site is protected by a well-known security provider as well as a major network provider. The site is monitored 24/7/365. Any issues that occur are dealt with immediately by internal staff as well as the network and security providers who are all available 24/7/365 as well. The site is backed up daily offsite. We. have multiple layers of security in place but if the site is compromised, we will contact the sponsors with the information.
If the password you choose is found to be insecure (too short, to easily guessed, or a part of a breach list), you will be asked to change it. If it is not changed within the time period we ask it to be changed, it will be changed for you by the administrators on the system.t
We do not allow documents of any type to be uploaded to the system. Again, if you upload an image to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. You may only upload a headshot which must be appropriate to use on an education-based site and contain no meta data or details which would allow you to be tracked.
Users that are 17 and under should NOT upload any type of picture.
